Why a patch hat instead of a printed New Year's Eve hat?
Because the patches come off and the hat stays. A printed party hat, or a foil cone, has one job and one night: the graphic is fused to the fabric, so the whole thing goes in the closet or the bin on January 1. The Canvas is a $30 blank that does not care what night it is, and the party lives in the patches, a $5 or $10 decision you can undo.
For a house party, that changes what the host buys. Instead of a bag of novelty hats, you buy a few Canvases and a spread of patches, guests pick at the door, and everyone leaves in a hat they would wear to brunch. Does it have to stay a New Year's Eve hat?
No, and this is where the format earns its price. On January 1 you lift Party and Star Burst off the brim, press on whatever the next month is about, and the hat carries on. The front panel and the brim are separate surfaces, so one build keeps the front neutral and lets the brim carry the party; after midnight the brim is the part that changes.

What does it cost to build?
A New Year's Eve build starts at $30 for the Canvas, plus $10 per Signature and $5 per Candyz. Add Stay Buzzed and the hat is $40. Add Party and Star Burst at $5 each and the full build shown above is $50. For a crew of eight, that is eight Canvases at $240 plus whatever each person presses on.

Is the hat's surface hook and loop, and what keeps a patch on?
Yes in principle: the loop side is Patchistry Fiber, our own loop weave, rather than an off-the-shelf strip sewn onto the front. It covers the entire front panel and the whole brim, which is why the brim is a working surface and not trim.

What do people ask before ordering New Year's Eve hats?
Will New Year's Eve hats arrive before the party?
Yes, if you count back from December 31 and leave a few days of margin. Processing takes 1 to 3 business days, and carrier transit is on top of that. Shipping inside the US is free.
Can guests swap the patches themselves at the party?
Yes. A patch lifts from one edge and presses back down anywhere on the front panel or brim, with no tools and no heat. Lay the patches out on a table and people sort it out on their own.
How many patches go on one hat, and what sizes do they come in?
One Signature on the front panel and three or four Candyz minis across the brim, on a single hat. Signature patches are 2.5 inches and Candyz minis are 1 inch. Both surfaces are covered in Patchistry Fiber, so any layout that fits works.
Are the patches embroidered?
No. Each patch is UV printed; none of them are embroidered. The image is printed onto the patch face, and the back is hook, which is what grips the weave.
Is the surface of the hat hook and loop?
Yes. The loop side is Patchistry Fiber, our own weave, and every patch is hook-backed. The weave runs across the front panel and the brim, so both take patches.
What if the hat is not right?
You have 30 days to return it. The FAQ page covers the details. Because the patches lift off, a wrong graphic means pressing on a different patch, not returning the hat.
