What is Patchistry Fiber?

Patchistry Fiber is the loop-weave surface on The Canvas’s front panel and brim. The hook backing on our hat patches grips that surface, so you can arrange and swap patches. Learn more in the Patchistry Fiber story.

What is Expression Wear?

Are the hats one size?

Yes. One-size-fits-most adult build with an adjustable snapback. Structured 5-panel construction, French Terry sweatband inside.

What does a hat build include?

The Canvas hat and patches are sold separately. Choose your hat and the individual patches you want in Build Yours. The Canvas is $30, Signature patches are $10 each, and Candyz patches are $5 each. Your cart shows the pieces and quantities you selected.

What colors does The Canvas come in?

Three colorways: Black, Khaki, and Pink. Each is $30.

Is The Canvas premium quality?

The Canvas has structured 5-panel construction, an adjustable snapback, and a French Terry sweatband. Patchistry Fiber covers the full front panel and brim, giving you room to arrange your patches.

Is Patchistry like Build-A-Bear or Crocs Jibbitz?

Patchistry is an independent brand and is not affiliated with Build-A-Bear or Crocs. Our hats and badge reels use interchangeable patches, so you can choose your own designs and swap them later.

Where is Patchistry based?

Patchistry started in a Southern California garage after two years of development. Every order ships from Simi Valley, CA.

How do the patches attach?

Each patch has a hook backing that grips the Patchistry Fiber loop on the front panel and brim. Press firmly. Done. You can position a patch anywhere there's loop — not just in a pre-determined slot.

Can I take patches off and put them back on?

Yes. Gently lift a corner, hold the hat fabric steady, and remove the patch. Press it onto another spot or swap in a different design. Follow our attachment and care instructions.

How many patches fit on one hat?

It depends on the designs and arrangement. Signature patches measure 2.5 inches at their longest point; Candyz measure 1 inch at their longest point. Use the front panel and brim, leave room for each patch to sit flat, and check your arrangement in Build Yours.

What's the difference between Signature and Candyz patches?

Signature hat patches measure 2.5 inches at their longest point and cost $10 each. Candyz hat patches measure 1 inch at their longest point and cost $5 each. Both have hook backing that attaches to the Patchistry Fiber loop surface. Choose either size or mix them.

Do you make badge reels?

Yes. The Badge Reel is a retractable ID reel with a hook-and-loop face. It takes our 1.25-inch badge reel patches. Choose a reel and patches in the Badge Reel Builder.

Where can I see all the patch designs?

Browse the patch wall for current Signature and Candyz designs. Our 1.25-inch badge reel patches are a separate line, available in the Badge Reel Builder.

What if a patch falls off?

Press each patch firmly onto the loop-weave surface and check the edges before wearing it. Follow our care instructions, and contact us with your order number if you have a problem.

Will the patches damage the hat?

The Canvas and our hat patches are designed for attaching, removing, and rearranging. Hold the fabric steady and gently lift a patch from a corner. Follow the attachment and care instructions and avoid pulling roughly on the fabric.

Do you sell patches separately?

Yes — patches are sold individually so you can add to your build over time. Browse Signature ($10 each) and Candyz ($5 each).

Can I request a custom patch design?

Not as a one-off right now — we focus on building a strong catalog that more people can use. But we take customer requests seriously when picking new designs to add. DM the founder on @patchistry with your idea.

Are the patches machine washable?

Avoid the washing machine. Spot-clean the hat with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air-dry. For a full wash, remove all patches, hand-wash The Canvas in cool water with mild detergent, rinse, and gently squeeze without wringing. Air-dry fully before reattaching patches. See our care guide.

How fast does shipping take?

Every order ships from Simi Valley, CA. Check our shipping policy for processing details and the delivery options shown at checkout. Carrier delivery time varies by destination. If you need an order by a particular date, contact us before ordering.

Is US shipping free?

US Economy shipping is $3 per package up to 5 lb for orders below $30 after discounts. US Economy shipping is free on orders of $30 or more after discounts. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

Do you ship internationally?

Available destinations and shipping options appear at checkout. If international shipping is available for your address, additional customs fees or duties may apply. Read the shipping policy for details.

What's the return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your order. Eligible items must be in the same condition you received them, unworn or unused, with tags and original packaging. You’ll need proof of purchase. Read our return policy and contact us for approval before sending anything back.

Can I order matching builds for a group (bachelorette, team, family)?

Yes. Choose a shared hat color or patch, then let each person add their own favorites. Current patch offers appear in Build Yours. For help planning a larger order, contact us before ordering.

Who founded Patchistry?

Brian DiGiuseppe founded Patchistry in Southern California. It started with a Halloween hat and grew into a way to make self-expression part of everyday wear. Read our story.

Patches + Artistry. Came together on a Friday night call between Brian and a close friend, sat on it for the weekend, locked it in by Monday.
