Why not just print the trip on the hat?

Because the trip ends and the hat does not. A hat with a date and a route printed across the front gets worn for four days and then kept in a closet out of politeness. The Canvas splits that into two separate decisions. The hat is the constant, a five-panel trucker at $30, and the patch on the front is the part that names the trip.

That split matters on a road trip more than almost anywhere, because a road trip is a group who agreed to share a car and agree on little else. Matching hats fail when they force one joke onto six heads. Give everyone the same hat and a patch they chose themselves and you get the group photo without the group negotiation.

Then the trip ends and the patch comes off. The hat goes back to being a plain hat, or takes whatever you press on next. Nothing about it is permanent except the hat.

What patches suit a road trip?

Three patches in the catalogue read as road trip without any explanation. All three are Signature patches: $10, 2.5 inches, UV printed, hook-backed.

If none of those is the joke your car runs on, any patch in the lineup presses onto the same hat. Nothing is theme-locked, so a crew can leave with three road trip patches and three unrelated ones.

Does it have to stay a road trip hat?

No, and it probably should not. The patch lifts off. That is the whole mechanic, and it is why a road trip hat here is a bad souvenir and a good hat. What does it cost to build?

Do the arithmetic before you ask the group for money. The Canvas is $30. Each Signature patch is $10. So one finished hat with one patch on the front is $40, and the same hat with a patch on the panel and another on the brim is $50. Four people at one patch each is $160. Eight patches across the group is the point where the volume meter reads 20 percent.

US shipping is free. Orders take one to three business days to assemble in Moorpark, California, and ship out of Simi Valley. Returns run 30 days.

Is the patch surface hook and loop, and how does a patch hold?

Yes in principle, and no in the way that matters. The front of The Canvas is not an off-the-shelf loop panel stitched onto a trucker hat. It is our own weave, Patchistry Fiber, and it covers the entire front panel and continues across the brim.

The patch does the other half of the job. Every patch is backed with hook, so the hook meets the weave and the patch sits where you pressed it until you decide to move it. There is no ironing, no sewing, no adhesive, and nothing that has to be reheated to come off again.

How fast do road trip hats ship?

Orders take one to three business days to assemble, then ship free anywhere in the US. If the departure date is close, order with about a week of margin and the hats will be on the counter before the cooler is packed.

Can we swap the patches ourselves on the road?

Yes. Pull the patch off the front panel and press a different one down in its place. It takes a couple of seconds and needs no tools, so a glovebox patch swap at a fuel stop is a completely normal thing to do.

How many patches fit on one hat?

The front panel holds one 2.5 inch Signature patch comfortably and the brim holds a second, because Patchistry Fiber covers both. Smaller 1 inch Candyz patches at $5 let you cluster several in the same space instead.

Are the patches embroidered?

No. Every patch is UV printed, never embroidered. That is why photographs, gradients and small lettering come through as themselves rather than being translated into thread.

Is the patch surface hook and loop?
